Connecting sports, fans & sponsors using technology

Social Media Athlete Training

Social Media Athlete Training was developed to assist athletes & managers to understand how social media can work for them.  When understood & implemented correctly it can help develop the personal brand of the athlete. Social Media offers terrific opportunities to connect with sponsors and fans.

Why use social media?

Social media gives athletes instant access to their fan base and when managed correctly the ability for them to build a fan base.  Social media can give an athlete a voice outside the traditional media outlets showcase their personality and passion.  Several athletes are now seeing using social media platforms in new sports marketing opportunities.

What will they learn?

Social Media can be a daunting prospect for people getting started.  Athletes will be guided through each social media platform avoiding the mistakes people make and helping them understand how each platform works to develop confidence in social media.  Additionally they will be shown the dangers in social media and how to manage & avoid those areas. Platforms covered include: Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Blogging and many more.

But I don’t understand Social Media?

That’s OK, we do at Sports Geek.  We stay in front of sports social media so you don’t have to.

How do we train athletes?

One on one training sessions (1 hour) much like personal training offers athletes an intensive session outlining the do’s & don’t of social media.  Sessions are developed to allow the athlete to feel comfortable with the platforms so they can decide what social media components work best for them.  Each session is part education and part setup assistance.  At the end of each session the athlete will be ready to better engage their fans and understand how their personal brand is developing.
